BOYS AND GIRLS ARE OFFERED GREAT OPPORTUNITIES IN SANTA ROSA,
SOUTH OF BOGOTA, COLOMBIA

100 boys and girls are supported with food, education, and character formation in Vereda Santa Rosa, located in "Ciudad Bolivar" in the capital of Colombia.

This mission has the objective of raising the education level of the area for boys and girls, and to do this, the following four things are being done.

  • Serving Food:  A big part of the children leave their home in the morning without having any breakfast, which normally results in sickness and low a low academic capacity. To end this, Foundation Matthew 25:35 offers a healthy and tasty breakfast for over 100 children every morning in Vereda Santa Rosa. The foundation also offers lunch to 50 of the children.

  • Education resource:  We offer tutoring after school and academic help for the boys and girls in the area that want to have an education, which helps them want to learn, since they do not have a chance to do so at home. We also encourage them to play a sport, play an instrument, or read in their free time. We also offer bible classes, that help them come closer to God, and encourage them to stay out of the streets and out of danger.
  • School for Parentss: This includes speaking with parents and their children about a healthy family life, eating and nutrition, and principles of religion. The purpose of this is for the child or teen to develop a better phycological and physical life so that they can have a better future and life.
  • Productivity for Families: A critical part of the life of the families in the area is the low amount of resources that they have. We inform them about recycling, how to sell candy in the streets, and how to clean shoes for people which can help them get some basic money for their living. In this moment, about 30 women are learning how to make dolls, with the hope of selling them and earning some money.
